Beautiful apartment in quiet location close to village bars and restaurants.
Le Loft is one of three newly-converted apartments in this beautiful old farm house, entirely renovated, in a historic area of Morzine.
Just a few minutes drive from the centre of Morzine, it’s close enough to the bars and restaurants of Morzine to enjoy great apres-ski, but when you return to the apartment, you can relax in the indoor jacuzzi or enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains that surround you. It’s also opposite a bakery, so you won’t have far to go for fresh bread and croissants in the morning!
The ski bus stops 50m away, giving you access to all the Portes du Soleil resorts in France and Switzerland. Larger groups can rent Le Loft with the other apartments in Le Refuge de l'Hermine farmhouse - Le Petit Refuge (sleeps 8) and La Terrasse (sleeps 10) - and even the luxurious Villa Solaire next door, which sleeps 14.
Spacious apartment combines Alpine style with modern convenience.
Completely renovated for winter 2013/14, Le Loft, a 3 star property, is on the top two floors of this pretty farmhouse, and sleeps 12. It’s decorated and furnished in contemporary mountain style, combining the warmth of the old wooden beams with natural textiles such as skins and furs.
The open plan living area on the top floor has two distinct spaces - the large dining area and kitchen, and a cosy seating area, with a flat screen television and a wood-burning stove. Both of these areas have access to balconies. There’s a family bedroom on this floor too, with a double bed and two singles in a separate alcove, as well as a shower room with separate toilet.
Downstairs, there are four more bedrooms - two doubles and a twin room, all of which are en suite, and a room with two bunks. On the ground floor, there’s a shared ski store and laundry, as well as the Jacuzzi and sauna - a great place to relax after an energetic day in the mountains.
A winter sporting paradise starts just minutes from your apartment.
Morzine is in the centre of the Portes du Soleil, making the neighbouring resorts of Les Gets and Avoriaz easily accessible.
You can also ski in to Switzerland, but be warned, only the most accomplished skiers should tackle the Swiss Wall - a huge mogul field which is classified as an orange route - too hazardous for a black! But with 650km of pistes, there is plenty of scope for skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities. The ski bus stops just 50m from Le Loft, making this beautiful chalet the perfect base to discover the area.
If you’re not a skier, Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which are often host to ice hockey matches, and the local cinema often shows films in English.
The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling or ice-climbing on some of the area’s frozen waterfalls, or discover the area in a more sedate manner on a sleigh ride. Other ways to have fun include snowshoeing and sledging, while the Indiana adventure park offers a variety of activities for all ages.
Relax or go wild in this fabulous mountain playground.
When the snow melts, the lush green slopes around Morzine become a haven for walkers, mountain bikers and thrill-seekers.
The lifts will take you and your bike up the mountains, into the heart of Europe’s biggest mountain biking area. There are a variety of trails, from gentle family rides to the rather more challenging Portes du Soleil circuit, which will take you in to Switzerland and back.
Morzine has earned Famille Plus status for its excellent childcare facilities and entertainment - a perfect choice for young families. There are superb water parks in town and in neighbouring Avoriaz, plus two summer sledging runs, while the Indiana adventure park has a range of assault courses to suit all ages and abilities.
Golfers will find excellent courses in Les Gets and Avoriaz. Other activities include climbing, rafting, via ferrata, canyoning, mini-golf, quad bikes, fishing and kayaking. You can also take advantage of the Portes du Soleil Multi Pass, offering unrestricted access to the full range of family activities, at an exclusive rate of 2€.
Discover mountain villages and lakeside towns in two countries.
The traditional Savoyard town of Morzine and the neighbouring resorts of Avoriaz and Les Gets offer plenty of variety for a holiday, whatever the time of year, but if you venture a little further, there’s plenty more to discover.
The Portes du Soleil resorts cross the border into Switzerland, giving you two countries and two cultures to experience. It’s just over half an hour’s drive to Lake Geneva, where you can explore lakeside resorts the pretty spa town of Evian-les-Bains, or the beautiful medieval village of Yvoire.
You can take also cruise to other lakeside towns such as Lausanne and Montreux. In Chamonix, just an hour’s drive away, you can take a ride on the second-largest cable car in the world, and take in the spectacular views from Mont Blanc. Geneva airport is just over an hour away from Le Petit Refuge, so if you don’t manage to see everything this time, you’ll just have to come back again next year!

From the Owner
We just fell in love with this lovely farm...
“We live in a neighbouring village to Morzine and had been looking for some land on which to build a family sized chalet for some time.
"One day whilst out walking around the village we came across this lovely red and white farm sporting an impressive carved shield on a wall next to a white ermine skin! We admired the unique character of the building and then continued with our walk and the quest to find our building plot.
"We were intrigued when visiting Morzine again several weeks later to see a “For Sale” board outside the farm, and so made an appointment to view the farm and just fell in love with the building. It hadn’t been our original intention to buy a property to renovate yet three visits and one negotiation later the farm was ours!
"We chose to name the property the 'Refuge de L’Hermine' [the Ermine’s Refuge] as tribute to the story we were told by a neighbour explaining the history of the shield and the Ermine skin. A white ermine was being chased by hunting dogs and sought refuge in the old farm, where he ended up staying the whole winter, keeping the owner company. The owner who was a carpenter carved the shield as a souvenir of the winter.
"We hope that like the Ermine you too will find refuge here, for a few days or more, and we wish to continue in the spirit of the carpenter by offering you hospitality in our much-loved chalet. Do have a fabulous stay in the beautiful Alps, The Bordini Family

“Unforgettable holiday in a magical place”
This loft is amazing, simply perfect, clean and very comfortable. The 10 of us stayed there without any problem.

“Great chalet and friendly people to deal with.”
Everything is perfect with one exception, the hot tub was not hot enough to our taste.... first world problems! However, highly recommended chalet to stay at, if we are looking for a big chalet (we had two families of five in our party) we would aim to stay at Le Loft again. We love Morzine, what's not to like! The chalet is in a nice quiet part of town which is nice.

“A wonderful stay”
Great holiday in this vast and bright "Loft", especially as we were the only guests in the chalet. We could therefor really enjoy the common space and equipment.

“What a marvellous holiday! ”
Despite the weather we will have great memories of our week in the Loft! It was a real pleasure to return to this property after sking. It is very well decorated, , everything was perfect. The bedlinen (very important), the bathrooms, the kitchen, the storage space ... we had the pleasure of meeting the owner - a charming man who checked that everything was ok The only thing missing was one or two large oven dishes - but by the afternoon these had been provided. We were very well looked after. We have nothing but compliments!
Christophe G. - 06/02/2016
The stay in "Le Loft" was over the festive season 2015/16. We enjoyed a fabulous time with the accommodation enhancing all aspects of our stay in Morzine. I could not recommend it more highly.
Christine B. - 26/12/2015
A well equipped chalet on the edge of Morzine, with everything you need nearby. The equipment and facilites were all first class - the appliances, showers and bathroom fittings top of the range.

“Good rental, close to Morzine”
We enjoyed the hot tub, the drying and laundry facilities, and the beautiful kitchen/dining area. The property is only a quick drive to Morzine.

“Excellent facilities and very comfortable.”
We had an absolutely awesome two week break at Le loft, Morzine Jan 15. Excellent facilities and very comfortable. A large storm blew in which disrupted power to Morzine and hot water in our chalet for a day but the chalet managers worked quick to put it right. Many thanks for a brilliant stay and hope to see you on our next visit to Morzine.

“Comfortable and welcoming”
A very clean chalet, with a modern style that was still very welcoming. Being so close to the bakery was a real bonus!

“Can't wait to return!”
We were lucky enough to be the first people in - gorgeous apartment, very comfortable and well appointed - we had a fabulous holiday here. We loved the hot tub and sauna, decor, excellent skiing and beautiful scenery. Any initial teething problems were promptly sorted out by Nicolas and Aurelie, and Ski Mobile also gave a fantastic service.

At the heart of the Portes du Soleil, Europe's largest skiing area, Morzine offers great winter sports and plenty of summer action. Ski, hike or bike into Switzerland, enjoy great lakeside walks, explore mountain villages or just relax in one of the village's many restaurants or bars. With a superb swimming pool complex, adventure park and a choice of spas, there's always something new to explore.
